Setting Up Fields

Drill Down Scatter PRO requires specific fields to create a visual. Click each field name below to learn more.

Required fields

  • X-Axis: numerical values on the X axis; used to determine horizontal placement of the data points.
  • Y-Axis: numerical values on the Y axis; used to determine vertical placement of the data points.

Optional fields

  • Categories: contains category names. Each unique category creates a data point. Adding multiple columns creates a drill-down hierarchy.
  • Legend: assigns data points to legend groups (independent of Categories). If Categories are not provided, Legend can be used to create data points (with limitations). Supports custom marker colors and shapes per legend group.
Drill Down Scatter PRO uses numerical values in the X-Axis and Y-Axis to position data points on a Cartesian coordinate plane, while Categories or Legend define how data points are created and grouped.
If no data is added to Categories or Legend, all values are aggregated and displayed as a single data point.

Additional customization fields

  • Label: custom text displayed in data point labels. If empty, the category name is used.
  • Value Label: numerical values displayed in data point labels (can differ from X and Y values).
  • Marker Color: color names or hex codes used to customize marker fill colors.
  • Marker Shape: shape names used to customize marker appearance.
  • Marker Image: base64-encoded images displayed inside markers.
  • Data Point Group: strings (group1, group2, etc.) used to assign data points to groups and apply separate customization settings (Data Point Group 1–9).
  • Tooltips: one or more columns of text or numerical values displayed in the tooltip.
