This visual requires two mandatory fields to create a scatter chart – X-Axis and Y-Axis, however without any other fields the visual will create just one aggregated data point. You will also need to use the Categories field to successfully plot the values as multiple data points.
Inital Setup
The scatter chart includes a guided setup experience that helps users begin with common chart configurations instead of manually exploring settings first.
To add Drill Down Scatter PRO to your Power BI report, click on the visual’s icon in the Visualization's pane.
You will instantly be presented with multiple configuration options to select from.
Required Fields Guidance
After a configuration is selected, the visual displays the required fields needed to build that configuration.
Field Validation and Visual Generation
As data is added, the visual indicates which required fields have already been provided and whether the supplied data is valid for the selected configuration. Once all required data is added, the visual is generated. The resulting chart can then be further customized in the settings pane.
Manual Setup
Users who prefer to build the visual from scratch can use the Manual Setup option available at the bottom of the initial setup window.
