Drill Down Timeline PRO requires three fields to create a visual. Click each field name below to learn more.
Required fields
- Date Hierarchy: defines the time-based structure of your data. You can use the default Power BI date hierarchy or add multiple columns (one for each time unit) to create a custom hierarchy. These units will act as drill-down levels.
- Date Value (X-Axis): add a single column of datetime values to determine the placement of data points along the X-axis. Values must correspond to the smallest time unit defined in the Date Hierarchy.
- Series 1–25: represents the values displayed in the visual. Each series is rendered as a separate line or element along the timeline.
Optional fields
- Legend: splits series into visually distinct segments that can be displayed as stacks or clusters.
- Dynamic Threshold 1-2: defines up to two threshold values using data fields or measures. Once assigned, thresholds are automatically enabled. Supports both data columns and measures.
- Tooltip Content: adds custom text or values to display in the tooltip when hovering over data points.
