Certain map services require providing credit as a part of their license agreement. For example, OpenStreetMap is licensed under ODbL license and requires attribution text to use or distribute their service.
If the tile server does not already contain the necessary license or attribution info within the map, you can use Attribution field to provide text credit to the map service.
By default, this field contains “© OpenStreetMap contributors”, which is provided in conjunction with the default Custom Map tile server URL from OpenStreetMap.
This setting will be displayed if your selected base layer Type is Custom Map.
