Report submitted for FP20 Analytics ZoomCharts Challenge, November 2023. The report was built with Tactical Crime Analysis dataset and includes ZoomCharts custom Drill Down PRO visuals for Power BI.
Author's description:
Excited to share the outcomes of my recent project, where I delved into tactical crime analysis using Power BI. 🚀
This dashboard is like a spotlight, illuminating key insights and offering a clear view of crime patterns. My project's central idea was to reveal patterns in crime data, emphasizing specific trends. I achieved this by categorizing the timing of criminal incidents, providing a comprehensive view for effective comparisons and analysis. Violent and sexual offenses top the list, contrasting with less common incidents like possession of weapons and bicycle thefts. Notably, a higher concentration of crimes occurs during the evening and night, while mornings witness fewer incidents. Over 68% of the crimes involve males, providing valuable insights into gender patterns in criminal behavior. Ethnicity 1 is linked to a significant 37.84% of crimes, whereas ethnicity 8 has the lowest incidence at 0.001%. The majority of analyzed crimes took place in 2022, indicating a potential temporal trend demanding attention. 📊🔍📈
