You can choose two (or three) colors and opacity levels which will be applied when the series values exceed your defined conditions, and they can be set at a manually entered constant value or dynamically calculated from the same or another series (percentage, average, above minimum or max).
The most common way to use conditional formatting is by setting a constant value, and the visual will apply specific colors to each line segment or value label depending on whether the value is exceeded or not (for example, green for values above a KPI and red for values below). However, this feature can also be adapted for a wide range of other cases with the use of various configuration settings available in this visual.
