This setting group allows you to define which level of the hierarchy will be used as a default on every initial chart load. the following options are available:

• Top - Depending on the hierarchy provided in the "Date Hierarchy" field, the visual will automatically take the top level (for example if Year/Month/Day is available the visual will load on Yearly granularity).
  
• Bottom - Depending on the hierarchy provided in the "Date Hierarchy" field, the visual will automatically take the bottom level (for example, if Year/Month/Day is available, the visual will load on Daily granularity).
  
• Custom - Once selected, the section will reveal separate toggles for all available units in the "Date Hierarchy" field, and enabling one of them will make it the default granularity.
  

This section also contains Remember Last Saved Unit toggle. If this toggle is enabled, the granularity level that's visible on the chart at the moment you save the report will be used as the default display unit.
